Community Contributes Thousands of Diapers and Wipes

ALBANY, OR -- Family Tree Relief Nursery hosted their annual Diaper Drive presented by Red Canoe Credit Union, where partnering businesses from Corvallis to Lebanon acted as drop off locations for the community to donate diapers and wipes to families in need.

“Resources such as diapers and wipes are so crucial to families,” Community Engagement Officer, Morgan Crawford said, “one child can go through 70 to 80 diapers in a single month and that isn’t sustainable for some families in our community.”

During Family Tree’s Diaper Drive they raised 45,047 diapers and 79,280 wipes, breaking their own personal record for how many diapers and wipes raised during this annual drive. This year 89 businesses across Linn and Benton counties partnered with Family Tree acting as a drop off for members of the community to donate. Every diaper and wipe will be given back into the community to the parents and children that Family Tree serves.

Morgan Crawford added, “I cannot express my gratitude (to the community) enough, these items mean everything to our families. Every package of wipes and diapers, no matter the size, has made the difference.”

Family Tree Relief Nursery has helped hundreds of children and their families to stay together as a family unit. Family Tree Relief Nursery is the only private, nonprofit organization in the area that provides the following services: a therapeutic classroom and nursery care for both toddler and preschool-aged children; home visitation and outreach services; respite care and crisis intervention; parent education and support; alcohol and drug recovery support as well as referrals to other community resources and services.
