Summary: Provides child care for families attending Relief Nursery parent groups and classes and weekly respite classroom for families in Outreach program. Other duties as assigned by the Therapeutic Classroom Program Supervisor.
Education & Experience: Completed at least 10 semester credits or 15 quarter credits in early childhood education or child development AND minimum six months’ teaching experience in a comparable group setting with the assigned age group.
Preferred: Education and experience with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
Sufficient maturity and good judgment to function in crisis situations.
Physical ability to lift and carry children plus good physical stamina.
Dependability and flexibility.
Current first aid and CPR certification.
Valid Food Handler’s card.
Basic knowledge of child maltreatment indicators and prevention of abuse.
Minimum age 18 years.
Maintain enrollment in the state Criminal History Registry.

Teacher/Hom Visitor - Bilingual, Spanish, Preferred
Plan, coordinate and implement the curriculum for three components of the Relief Nursery child abuse prevention program, including therapeutic early childhood classroom, home visitation, and parent education. Conduct regular home visits with enrolled families and provide child development and parenting information. Provide twice-weekly classroom experience for enrolled children, planning & implementing curriculum in accordance with Relief Nursery guidelines. Other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Program Manager/Director.
